World’s Most Expensive Billboard Was In Dubai?

Back at a time when billboards were at its heyday in Dubai that is in 2012, the country was once a host to the world’s most expensive billboard set at a whopping $1.3 billion per month if the said product placement was to run on a round-the-clock basis. The billboards mentioned which were said to be that much were attributed to Skydive Dubai and Go Fast!, a Denver-based company which advertised its energy products.

Unlike most billboards who pay for their advertisements at relatively lower costs, Skydive Dubai and Go Fast!’s specific advertisement is a lot more expensive for a good reason – apart from the actual cost of setting up the billboard, both companies employ a stunt, that is, a man wearing a jetpack hovering around the billboard who is paid at a rate of $500 per second for 20 to 30 seconds every time for a month. On a single run, the person behind the jetpack would be earning a good sum of $10000 for the first 20 seconds alone.

Set at one of Dubai’s most memorable landmark, the BurjKhalifa skyscraper, known to be the tallest building in Dubai which is known to overlook another equally memorable piece of island as being the biggest in the world, the Palm Islands, the advertisement was meant to be interactive after having employed a stunt that grabs people’s attention. Ensuring the advertisement’s maximum exposure, the billboard was placed to face the entrance of the towering skyscraper.

Apart from the actual landmarks as mentioned, the luxurious billboard itself is now also seen as a landmark for Downtown Dubai, if not as a remarkable advertising platform.

With extreme sports and adrenaline at its theme, Skydive Dubai, as backed by a company deemed as a real estate powerhouse, Emaar Properties, and Go Fast! are a perfect mix and whose product is an expensive advertisement that reaches the top of the building to which the advertisement is closely placed.

For a stunt that is meant to drive a campaign for the two companies behind its fruition, the show was primarily played by the person behind a jet pack who initially hid itself behind the billboard only to later on appear and hover around the billboard lasting for about 20 to 30 seconds and then land on the billboard concluding the said stunt.

Set to entertain on its customers, the Skydive Dubai premieres a skydiving services that is not gratifying but are also safe, thanks to its professional staffs which supervise every customer.

Displaying a beauty that is both exotic and man-made, skydivers are placed in a pre-designated height through an aircraft to be dropped off at the drop zone, which gives a top-down view of Dubai that is unseen at the ground level. Thrill-seekers who wanted to see Dubai at its fullest picture are encouraged to go skydiving.

Advertising makes for a burgeoning billboard companies in Dubai which had its peak back in recent years and showed decline but is now regaining its status as a profitable business in the region.
